Welcome to my attempt at keeping the masses up to date

Please note: my blog is full of my thoughts, opinions (which are not always "right"), random things relating to my family and friends and the occasional Cut and Paste news.... whatever is important to me. I ramble on from time to time (that's the St. Sauveur in me) and at the end of whatever I wrote you may question what on earth I was thinking or it may not even make sense to you.....sorry....I warned you. You may not always like what you read (I do have an insane case of "Potty Mouth" which I try to hide on here, but it won't always happen) or what you see, but we all have our own opinions on things. Feel free to ask questions or leave comments. I do ask that you please leave your name so I know who I'm responding to. If you want to email me privately you may do so at imninstar@yahoo.com Thanks

Tabs For Taylor

"No amount is too small when the cause is so great!"~ LOSNA.

We started collecting tabs in June 2009 when we were in the process of doing our SHrINE ON SPRINGFIELD walk for Shriners Hospital (~ Springfield Facility) fundraiser. There were some people who could not afford to make a monetary donation to Shriners Hospital so they saved and donated their tabs.

The Old #4 Fire and Hose Ladies Auxilary heard about our fundraiser and decided they wanted to help somehow. They liked the tab collection idea so they asked every member to save their tabs and turn them in at their monthly meetings. The ladies then got their families involved. All they needed now was a catchy title.........and "TABS FOR TAYLOR" was born.

The Tabs for Taylor drive started collecting tabs from all over VT and NH thanks to the help of family and friends around the 2 states.

We collected over 120,000 tabs from June 1 to November 7, 2009.

People in a variety of locations around the two states collect them from other people and businesses. When Taylor has a check up or other appointment at Shriners Hospitals for Children in Springfield, we gather up everyone's collections and bring the tabs to the hospital. LOSNA takes over from there and the money made from recycling the tabs is then spent on things for the patients at Shriners Hospitals for Children. There is more info on this process on the pages below along with a pretty impressive list of things that have been purchased with Tab money over the last 10 years.

Tabs For Taylor grew like wild fire and pretty soon our 'small' 5 gallon buckets were filling up too fast to keep up with. After some brainstorming, I got my Dad involved and he made us 3 wishing wells for tabs.

I am always looking to set up more public tab collection spots around the 2 states in hopes of getting more people involved with this project, please feel free to contact me if you would like to have one at your location. Right now we have Tabs For Taylor wishing wells located at: 71 Church St in North Walpole NH and 33 School St in Alton, NH and tab bins at Kit N Kaboodle Consignments, 16 Tremont St in Claremont NH and Mountain View Fudge, 1385 Route 103 in Newbury, NH as our public tab drop locations. Anyone not near those locations, please feel free to email me at imninstar(at)yahoo.com I will try to line something up so someone can get together with you.

A huge "THANK YOU" goes out to everyone who has and continues to help save TABS FOR TAYLOR. From Florida to Maine and as far away as Dunoon, Scotland! Thank you all for all your help.
