I appologize again for the lacking posts. Facebook has been my sort of 'updater' recently. I started working back in november at this call center and the hours were kind of weird and with ashtyn's school stuff in the mornings, I was pretty much too exhausted to even think. This went on from thanksgiving until mid january when things got a little more tricky. I found out about an opening nearby at a retirement housing facility (basically a nursing home but its for people who just need help with bathing and keeping their meds straight) so I was all excited to get it since it gets me back in the nursing field. So I had this oh so brilliant idea that i'd work both places. I'd be at the retirement home from 2-10:30pm and then fly over to the call center to work until 2am, or later depending how the night went. Thursday, friday and saturday were the 'easy' days cause I only did the retirement home, but it was from 10pm-6:30am..... So needless to say sleep wasn't happening and I left the call center. Now i'm enjoying the perks of a set schedule, awesome coworkers (which I did have at the call center too, and I miss a bunch of them), more regular & nice paycheck and I don't have to worry about not waking up to send ashtyn to school or pick her back up. And no more calls from the shady pantyhose guy is an added bonus. The only ral downfall is that jeremy and I don't see each other ever it seems. I come home and he's asleep or leaving to go to work himself so that sucks but we gotta do what needs to be done I guess. I do (usually) have every other weekend off so we do get to do family stuff a little just not as much as we were all used to. We did get to have our second post children date a couple weeks ago, barely. Luckily our friend tammy was home. She and her boyfriend watched the girls so we could go to vermont railroads 'christmas' party that they hold up here in the end of january. All you can eat and drink, for free, at eastsides restaurant!!! Oh yeah. I had to go into work at 10 so drinking wasn't an option this year but I think the amount I ate made up for what they would have spent on my booze. Their food is almost too good. Mmmmmmm. That's basically the jist of how things have gone lately and brings us up to the beginning of february. Then, my exploder decided it's rear wheels wanted to fall off. They didn't really fall off but they were close. Both the rear barings were gone and my rear brakes were destroyed. I told them an idiot light came on and asked them to check it out. The light never came on for them and no codes came up on the computer scan. Weird. So $800 later, I have my car back. A week goes by, the tranny slipped on me twice in the am. So I call the shop and they said to swing in the next time the light came on....so I do.....my tranny is dead. I guess some cooling thing went which caused the transmission fluid to run low thus killing my tranny......and the price tag for this fix................... $3700!!!!!! As if. Thank goodness my inlaws came to my rescue and loaned me their not-exactly-spare rig for a couple weeks. I was supposed to find out today if my warranty would cover anything but haven't heard a word as of yet :( who knows.
That's about it for my update. The only other thing(s) to add is the 'planned' date for sos2011 is saturday june 4th. I'm waiting for the confirmation from the springfield selectboard about the trail but everything is in the works :) Hope to see lots and lots of people there again this year!!!
Ps, in reguards to the walk.....some of my links on my blog are for last years stuff.....hopefully i'll have them all fixed in the morning, but for now i'm going to get some shut eye :)
