Welcome to my attempt at keeping the masses up to date

Please note: my blog is full of my thoughts, opinions (which are not always "right"), random things relating to my family and friends and the occasional Cut and Paste news.... whatever is important to me. I ramble on from time to time (that's the St. Sauveur in me) and at the end of whatever I wrote you may question what on earth I was thinking or it may not even make sense to you.....sorry....I warned you. You may not always like what you read (I do have an insane case of "Potty Mouth" which I try to hide on here, but it won't always happen) or what you see, but we all have our own opinions on things. Feel free to ask questions or leave comments. I do ask that you please leave your name so I know who I'm responding to. If you want to email me privately you may do so at imninstar@yahoo.com Thanks

Walk for Love at Shriners Hospital in Springfield Mass

It's always a great day at Shriners Hospital! And yesterday was even more exciting than usual.

Queen Taylor dazzled the crowd and I attempted to not trip over my tongue while fighting off tears as I told an enormous crowd of people our story.
But before the stage fright began, we had tons of fun goofing off with our clown friends.
And Ana...

And Storm Troopers.....

And puppies from K-9s for Kids, Inc
And a gigantic rabbit, and huge porcupine, snakes and other crazy critters at the petting zoo....

And hanging with our fellow Shriners Hospital Patient Ambassador Jacob Ellinger
This is the link to his speech http://youtu.be/M92h3TE5hj0

And LOSNA friends

It was a great morning had by all :)
Then it came time for the stage fright ;-)

My Mom caught it on video but before I even saw it, I found out it had already made it's debut on YouTube thanks to Kerry O'Connor. And as if it wasn't hard enough to fight the tears saying it, his thanks to me at the end crushed me.

I can't even describe how happy I was to be able to be a part of yesterday's Walk for Love event and how grateful I am to be a part of the Shriners Hospitals family.

Thank you Bernadette, Lee and Karen for having faith in me to speak on behalf of the Hospital.

Thanks to the Melha Clown crew especially Fix It, Railz, Doc and Joey and LOSNA Lady Maureen for the extra attention and love you shared with us.

And thank you Shriners for all that you do!

We've tackled zipping with Armie :)

A couple days ago she tried to zip her coat all on her own and to her and my surprise, she did it. She was so excited, she has been showing everyone her Zippin Skills ever since.

"Oned-handed" ambidexterity

I tried to upload this video onto blogger but after 5 hours I gave up.

Probably not the most exciting video to some people, but I'm pretty gitty about it.

She has been doing so much two handed stuff lately, like holding her cup with both hands and "driving" her ride on toys.....she tried to dig in the dirt with Ashtyn using her pro arm to hold the shovel.....the dirt was still frozen...but she tried :)

Taylor, my dear, you get an ATTAGIRL from Mommy. (and not the sicko definition....weirdos)

5 more days until we get her new hand. I have no idea if its the same type of hand or if they're just making a new arm for the hand we have..... I really never thought to ask....... it doesn't matter.....I'm just happy that they are able to provide prosthetics for Taylor. We know she can do anything and everything without a prosthetic, but she uses and LOVES her hand(s)..... I would be so heartbroken for her if she wasn't able to have them. I know she's super happy to have a helping hand.

Ashtyn's Preschool's Winter Concert

I apologize for the random shakiness and occasional blurriness.....It was almost as much a challenge for me to video the performance as it was for the little ones to get on stage in front of 500 people to sing.

Ashtyn was not very impressed by being on the very end of the stage. Jeremy and I thought for sure she was going to fall off at any given moment....she even tried to weasel in a few places away from the end.....but her classmate wasn't allowing any of that.

Smarty baby

I finally caught it on video...... she's so funny, she "kisses" her smilie to lube it up like I do when her nubbie isn't cooperating.... a little spit solves almost every problem :) I don't really know what the deal is with her nubbie randomly swelling....Monday I couldn't get her prosthetic on without removing the spacer sleeve and putting a nylon on her arm, then on Tuesday I had to put the spacer sleeve back in it and use the suspension sleeve to keep her prosthetic from falling off...... little weirdo.

Milestones

Little Taylor can pull herself up now to standing. She hasn't figured out the whole taking steps part but she's getting there. She can also crawl the "proper" way a bit. She still prefers her butt scoot though. Her sixth tooth is still making her crazy. Its as if its stuck. It broke through but hasn't come out anymore.... its been a few weeks.....evil teeth. Miss Ashtyn decided that my removal of her trapeeze bar wasn't going to stop her from doing her "exercises" as she call it. She saw some 9 year old do a flip with the swings and wanted to try. The big kid told her she couldn't do it cause she was still a baby.... wrong answer, Miss Muffet came home and did it on her first try. That's all the time I've got right now, hopefully I have something entertaining to share after my 2 party apperiances today.
